back in 2004, jasmine trias was the first filipino-american idol to compete. my dad was so excited that he voted non-stop by texting on two cellphones (not shown) with the help of two earpieces (shown). my parents are in the philippines right now, so not sure what their american idol viewing practices are like. i can only imagine the awkward tension in our house full of aunties however, to vote or not to vote?
